Two killed, 10 injured in Gulu highway accident

Two people have died and 10 others injured in a Friday accident at Kyamukonda along the Kampala-Gulu highway in Nakasongola district. 

The accident occurred at around 2:30 am and involved a bus belonging to Divine Bus Company Reg. No. UAU 120Y Isuzu which collided with a Fuso truck Reg. No. UBA 916Y.  

Brian Ampaire, the Nakasongola district police commander says that they are yet to establish the identities of the dead. Those injured are Kamugisha Harunah, the driver of the bus, Moses Taban, Thomas Lagu, David Ijjo, Denis Opio, 36, Joan Keliki, Gabriel Kedina, and Alex Jale, all passengers in the bus.  

The others are Abubakar Katende and Ibrahim Ibandawho were in Fuso truck. They were all rushed to St. Francis hospital at Kakooge in Nakasongola. 

Ampaire says that preliminary investigations indicate that the driver of the bus which was coming from Gulu heading to Kampala was overtaking on the right-hand side and collided with the Fuso truck which was heading to Gulu.
