High heights, high tastes at Milk & Maar

It is easy to see why the Nutella Oreo crêpe is the Kololo-based Milk and Maar’s selling point.

Ok, what is advertised on their socials is not exactly what is delivered; the winter pansies and violas are missing on the garnish. The actual waffle does not possess the smooth texture, while the Oreos may come off as the last remnants in a cookie jar.

Likewise, the scoop of vanilla ice cream does not look as enchanting. But so what?!

This is one light meal that tastes better than it looks. It can be served for breakfast, brunch or an evening snack. It is quite rubbery, chewy, melty and juicy-sweet, with a wonderful aftertaste due to the chocolate sprinkles.

The Shs 29,000 price may seem pricey, especially for the small portions, but hey, like all meals at Milk and Maar, the waffles here are not meant to fill you up.

It is not about the portions; it is about the dining experience. The beautiful view of half of Kampala is the attraction. So high is the restaurant located with high-end residences, that you can see as far as Namboole stadium in Bweyogerere to the east and depending on your eyesight, you can also see as far as Ggaba.

For foodies who suffer from acrophobia (a fear of heights), this is a no-go place for you as you are almost as high as three quarters of the telephone and TV masts, and the clear glass walls do not help matters.

The clientele, depending on the time of day, can be civil and quiet, or as wild and as smokiest as can be.
