The Real Stars Sports Agency will this Saturday, December 10, be announcing the best sportsmen and women for the month of November.

This will be at the Garden City roof top along Yusuf Lule road, in an event that will culminate into the 2022 year-ending awards gala, to decorate the best this year.

According to Isac Mukasa, the executive director of Real Stars Sports Agency, the event this weekend is going to be a party with a luncheon to celebrate. Since it is an end-of-year function, there is no better time, to feast by wining and dining with the athletes.

Mukasa said: “The best sportsman or woman will be our Super Star, and we expect it to be exciting, as it is competitive.”

Mukasa added that the nominees for the ultimate prize will be selected from the list of this year’s monthly winners. Like every other year, save for the ones between 2020 and 2021, there have been huge sporting moments to reminisce about.

For example, this year, probably no event has superseded the World Athletics Championships, where Uganda’s Joshua Cheptegei and Jacob Kiplimo won gold and bronze respectively in the 10,000 metres race in Oregon, USA. Add the fact that Kiplimo went on to win both the 10,000 and 5,000 metres gold medals in Birmingham during the Commonwealth Games, and one realizes how neck-to-neck these two track and field stars are in contest.

Cheptegei was the best athlete in July while Kiplimo followed suit in August. Yet, beyond the runners, were basketball players Brenda Ekone, Rose Akon, Francis Azolibe and Saidi Amisi.

Para-swimmer Husnah Kukundakwe, who won two golds, three silvers and one bronze at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Konya, Turkey, was the best swimmer in August. She, too, has had an unforgettable year, as surely rugby star Aaron Ofoyrwoth has, beyond winning the April award.
